Hot Air Balloon Flights Over Bagan Myanmar
There are currently three companies, Balloons Over Bagan, Oriental Ballooning and Golden Eagle Ballooning, offering balloon flights over the Bagan Plain. The flight season is from the 10th of November until the 10th of April and most flights take place at first light due to the light winds, the cooler temperature and the spectacular lighting of the temples at that time. Additional flights in the late afternoon can sometimes be made if conditions allow and some flights are also scheduled for late-June through to September although all these flights are more likely to be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. Flight duration tend to be approximately forty-five minutes to one hour although the whole experience from being collected from your hotel until you are returned to Bagan will last about three hours.
As the flight is dependent on both the wind direction and strength, the take-off and landing points as well as the flight duration can change although the highly-experienced pilots know how to achieve the best experience. To fly you must be aged eight years old or over and children must be accompanied by an adult.
Balloons Over Bagan
Balloons Over Bagan started operations in Myanmar in 1999 and have a fleet of ten balloons which can accommodate between 8 and 16 passengers each. The baskets which hang below the balloons are divided into four compartments plus space for the pilot each compartment holding either two, three or four passengers.

Oriental Ballooning
Oriental Ballooning commenced operations in Myanmar in 2013 and have a fleet of balloons offering flights over Bagan, Mandalay and Inle Lake. All the experienced pilots, many of whom are multilingual, have UK commercial balloon licences. The flights take place with between four and eight passengers.

Golden Eagle Balloon
Golden Eagle Ballooning is the most recent operation to enter the market offering flights over Bagan since 2014. They currently operate three balloons with a capacity of eight passengers per balloon. The experienced pilots are from Switzerland and Spain.
